Today was such an emotional and spiritual high! We had Sunday morning and afternoon General Conferences, and spent time with our friends Mike and Vickie. We spent time together (my husband and I) driving to visit families we serve, and spent time tonight reading Day 10 in the Book of Mormon 2Nephi Chapters 2-3.
Reading Chapter 2 and 3 these are my thoughts today:
I am thankful for Jesus Christ our Savior. In 2Nephi 2:6-7 it says, "Wherefore, Redemption cometh in and through the Holy Messiah; for he is full of grace and truth. He offered himself as a sacrifice for sin...unto all those who have a broken heart and contrite spirit...
I know Jesus Christ is my Salvation and there is no other way to return to Heavenly Father than because through him. I appreciated being reminded of my free choice in this life and that there is opposition in all things so that we can fully appreciate the good in our lives because we have experienced struggle.
"Men are that they might have joy!"
I decided I want to memorize 2Ne 2:13-16. Please read it slowly. It really impacted my heart to read those words. This chapter talks alot about the fall of Adam and Eve, why it happened, how we came to be because of it, and how Christ redeemed us because of the Fall and our need for a Savior.
Chapter 3 Lehi told his son that Joseph of Egypt saw the Nephites, saw Joseph Smith Jr and was aware of Christ bringing forth a Prophet like Moses. I was humbled to think about how God has planned things from the beginning to save us from the transgressions of Adam and Eve in The Garden of Eden. God shared his plans with Prophets of Old who saw us in our day!
Everything the prophets saw came to pass confirming the truth of them being Prophets of God. Amos 3:77 says, "Surely the Lord God shall do nothing save he revealed his secrets to his servants the Prophets." Because of this I know I can trust them to lead us in the direction God wants for us, his children.
