Day 22 Jacob 3-5

Jacob chastised Nephites for practicing Polygamy without permission from Heavenly Father and for mistreating their wives and children.

The skin color reference sign of the Lamanites, I still don't understand completely, but my understanding is that the Lamanites dark skin was a mark or sign of their disobedience to God at one point before they became righteous. Their skin color was NOT the curse!  The curse was separation from God for disobedience.  It bugs me that it was a revelation or teaching that people of color didn't hold the Priesthood until 1978   and I'm not sure why it was relevant because I know Christ loves all of us.  I don't have to agree in order to be a faithful Latter Day Saint! I empathize with those who learn of this topic and feel hurt.  I get it.

I don't question God or his Prophet, so I'll ask when I get to Heaven for a clearer explanation and I have faith that in the next life it will be explained.

Here is a video that I appreciate.

I think about these 3 Chapters and am reminded of my own life when I was belligerent and disobedient.  I also look at how I repented, found joy, healed and am obedient to the Lord in my life.

My sign of not trusting Jesus was leaving my faith.  A sign is not the curse and all I can say is that I don't understand why color was the sign but it was.

I believe in Christ.  I know he loved the Lamanites. I know He loves me and you!

Chapter 5 described the allegory of the Olive tree.  I am so happy for the knowledge of "good fruits".

Likening the scriptures unto me

1.  Having faith is not to have a perfect knowledge or understanding of things.

2. God loves ALL of us, including me.

3. Sometimes I practice my faith and have hope that my lack of understanding will be revealed in God's time.

4. Obedience will produce good fruits.

5.  I love Jesus Christ and know that I will see him again.  The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter Day Saints is true! ❤️
