Day 43 Alma 15-17

In Alma 15, Zeezrom becomes convicted of his evil ways and is converted because of Alma and Amulek's teachings.  He repents, is baptized, and changes his life.  The verses in this chapter describe Zeezrom as being very sick in the mind because of his wickedness.  He was suffering torment of the mind.

Zeezrom was a very deceptive man.  A liar and lover of wickedness.  He got a physical fever and illness over thinking Alma and Amulek had been murdered and that possibly it was his fault.  He was tormented so much spiritually that he became ill physically.

Zeezrom asked Alma and Amulek to heal him, he professed his belief in Christ, and Alma told him that his belief would heal him.  He was baptized and went about preaching to the people from that time forward.  This reminded me of Saul who persecuted Christians and after his conversion and name change to Paul, he was the single most influential missionary of Christ and helped spread Christianity to the world in the East.

Chapter 16 the Lamanites invaded Ammonihah and killed the people, destroyed the city, and took more of them captive.  The Nephites asked Alma what to do and he told them, they obeyed his council and took back their brethren and defeated the Lamanites.  Alma prophesied that Christ would visit the Nephites after his death and resurrection.

Likening These Chapters Unto Me

Zeezrom...the dude went the long way around.  He came to eventually find his belief and live for Christ.  I relate.  I know that the Plan of Salvation and the tesrimony of Salvation in Christ changed me.

I love Alma and Amulek.  They went through so much at the hands of Zeezrom, the people of Nehor, the city of Ammonihah, and the Lamanites yet they stayed true, taught, and forgave bringing "the least of these" unto Christ.  I want to be like that.  I will be praying to be like that.
