Day 71; 3 Nephi 4-6

In 3 Nephi 4, Giddianhi, the Gadianton Robber, was murdered by the Nephites when the Gadianton Robbers went to war with the Nephites.  It was a terrible war, but the Nephites prayed and God helped them win the battle and kill the Leader of the Gadianton Robbers.

Zemnarihah was the Leader after the death of Giddianhi and the Nephites also killed him.  The Nephites praised God for protecting them from the evil men, the murderers in their hearts and in the war, the Gadianton Robbers.

3 Nephi 4:33 says, 33 "And their hearts were swollen with joy, unto the gushing out of many tears, because of the great goodness of God in delivering them out of the hands of their enemies; and they knew it was because of their repentance and their humility that they had been delivered from an everlasting destruction."

Likening this verse unto me

I have felt in the past 2 years the same rejoicing as I have seen God send protection to me as I have poured my heart out to the Lord.  I ask Him to keep evil away from me in the form of media, news, books, and people.  I have seen his intercession in my life and have felt Angels around me protecting me and lifting me up.

I have experienced the Holy Ghost warn me about people with bad intentions.  I have had the Lord prevent me from situations that can harm me.  I have even been protected from a tragic car accident.

I read these stories of the celebration that the Nephites had. They were falling to their knees in worship, and their feelings of thanks to God poured out with tears.  I understand this, because I have experienced in the past few weeks God's protection, even shutting the mouths of bad people where they could not harm me anymore.

In 3 Nephi 5, The Nephites captured every Gadianton Robber who was not killed and put them in Prison.  Then they taught them the Gospel and told them that if they would repent and come unto Christ, they could receive their liberty!  The rest of Chapter 5 goes over the promises of the people of Jacob, the description of plates, the history of the people, and the promises for the believers who repent and are obedient.

3 Nephi 5:26 says, 26"And then shall they know their Redeemer, who is Jesus Christ, the Son of God; and then shall they be gathered in from the four quarters of the earth unto their own lands, from whence they have been dispersed; yea, as the Lord liveth so shall it be. Amen.

In 3 Nephi Chapter 6, The Nephites kept their oath with the Gadianton Prisoners who repented and became the Lamanites who wanted to be free and converted to Christ and believed in Him.

The Nephites gave them land, freedom, work, and called for peace in the land.  The old cities were repaired and highways and roads were built.

The peace didn't last.  Some people began to worship their wealth.  They became wicked while others remained humble.  Many Lawyers and Judges in the land banded together against the Freedom and Liberties of The Church of God and the Nephites and wanted a King and to remove freedom.
